SEMH Teacher – Primary | Hillingdon
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a fantastic specialist primary SEMH school in Hillingdon from September 2026.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. The school is well-resourced, has excellent facilities, and offers a supportive leadership team committed to both pupil and staff development.
The school forms part of The Willows School Academy Trust, providing specialist education for boys and girls with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, creating a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to achieve both academically and personally.

The Role
As the successful SEMH Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
Support pupils with a range of behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
Use positive behaviour management strategies to create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Build strong, positive relationships that enable pupils to thrive both academically and emotionally.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
Proven experience working with pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
Strong behaviour management skills are essential.
Experience supporting pupils with additional needs in a specialist or mainstream setting.
Passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
