Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a background supporting children or young people with ASD, SEN or additional needs?
We are currently looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in New Addington, Croydon, supporting primary and secondary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of special educational needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about helping children and young people develop academically, socially and emotionally.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with ASD and additional learning needs in the classroom and across the school.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
- Help pupils engage with learning and develop confidence and independence.
- Support positive behaviour and create a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and other school staff to meet individual pupil needs.
- Adapt your approach to suit different learning styles and abilities.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with ASD/SEN.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar.
- A patient, calm and supportive approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.
Registration Requirements
To register for the role, you will need to provide:
- Availability for an interview.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new Enhanced DBS.
- References covering the last 2 years.
- Valid Right to Work documentation.
