Job Title: Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) Location: Sutton, SM5 Reports to: Head of School Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to oversee and support the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities. This role is based at a specialist campus in Sutton, SM5, supporting pupils with autism, severe learning disabilities, and significant social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs that impact their ability to manage daily activities. Key Responsibilities: Oversee provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Lead and manage annual review meetings. Act as the designated teacher for looked-after children. Work closely with external agencies, including EHCP coordinators and social care professionals. Support and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to meet the diverse needs of students. Ideal Candidate: Qualified and experienced SENCO (or working towards SENCO qualification). Proven experience supporting children with autism and high support needs. Organised, proactive, and an excellent team player. Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and procedures. Skilled in working collaboratively with families, carers, and external professionals.
