Location: Sutton, Greater London Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only). Start Date: Tuesday 1st September (Temp to Perm). Salary: From £92.63 per day. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs. About the Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils across different age groups. Key Responsibilities • Support pupils with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and complex needs in the classroom. • Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions to support learning and development. • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies. • Support pupils' communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence. • Assist with sensory activities and structured learning programmes. • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning. The Ideal Candidate We are keen to hear from candidates who have experience in any of the following roles: • SEND Teaching Assistant • SEN Teaching Assistant • Learning Support Assistant (LSA) • Autism Support Worker • Behaviour Support Assistant • Care Worker or Support Worker with experience supporting children You must have: • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ASD, or complex needs. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach. • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. • A genuine passion for special education and inclusive learning. Desirable qualities • Previous experience in a special school, SEN school, mainstream school, or care setting. • Knowledge of autism-friendly strategies and sensory support approaches. • Experience working with non-verbal pupils or those with communication difficulties.
