SEND Teacher – Autism & Complex Needs – Primary Special School – Tower Hamlets £180–£240 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start Axcis are working with a supportive and well-established primary special school in Tower Hamlets who are seeking a committed SEND Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about working with children with autism, complex needs, communication difficulties and learning disabilities. The school provides a highly structured, nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils are supported to build confidence, develop independence and make meaningful progress at their own pace. The successful teacher will be joining a specialist setting with experienced Teaching Assistants, a strong leadership team and a clear focus on personalised learning. Lessons are practical, engaging and carefully adapted to meet individual needs, with communication, regulation, sensory support and life skills forming an important part of the school day. Located in East London, the school is easily accessible from Tower Hamlets, Newham, Hackney, Barking and surrounding areas via Tube, DLR, Overground and local bus routes. About the Role As the SEND Teacher, you will lead a small class of pupils with a range of additional needs. Pupils may be working below age-related expectations and will require a teacher who can deliver creative, differentiated and highly structured learning. You will: • Teach a small class of primary-aged pupils with SEND • Support pupils with autism, complex needs, communication difficulties and learning disabilities • Plan and deliver engaging, practical and differentiated lessons • Use visual supports, structured routines and sensory-aware strategies • Work closely with Teaching Assistants to create consistency throughout the school day • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and independence • Contribute to EHCP outcomes, progress tracking and individual learning plans • Liaise with the SENCO, therapists, parents and wider professionals where required • Create a calm, positive and inclusive classroom environment What We’re Looking For • Qualified Teacher Status, QTLS or strong SEND teaching experience • Experience teaching pupils with autism, complex needs or learning disabilities • Confidence planning highly differentiated and practical lessons • Strong classroom leadership and behaviour management skills • Ability to lead Teaching Assistants effectively within the classroom • A calm, patient and reflective teaching style • Good understanding of EHCPs, personalised learning and inclusive practice • Full-time availability and commitment to a long-term role from September This is an excellent opportunity for a SEND Teacher looking for a long-term role in a specialist Tower Hamlets setting.
