Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (Reading)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with complex needs? A specialist school in Reading is looking for a dedicated and flexible SEND teaching assistant to join their vibrant team. This full-time position runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM and offers the unique opportunity to support students ranging from early primary years through to post-16 education. As part of this role, you'll work closely with students who require tailored assistance, helping them with personal care, sensory engagement and communication skills. You'll also be a vital support to teaching staff, contributing to a calm, structured and stimulating learning environment. The ability to manage and positively respond to challenging behaviour is key, as is a genuine commitment to helping every student thrive. The ideal candidate will have at least three months’ experience working with individuals with special educational needs and disabilities. Flexibility, a team-oriented attitude and a readiness to assist across a range of age groups are essential. Confidence in supporting personal care tasks is important, and while not required, a UK driving license is preferred.
