Full-Time | Paid to Scale We are seeking to appoint a committed, experienced, and empathetic SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wandsworth. About the Role: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be an essential part of the school’s Inclusion and SEN team. You will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them to access the curriculum, develop their social and emotional skills, and achieve their personal and academic goals. This role will involve both in-class support and small group or one-to-one interventions, with a focus on fostering independence and building resilience in learners with a variety of needs. Key Responsibilities: • Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEND, including but not limited to ASD, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties. • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to implement individual learning strategies and ensure inclusive teaching practices. • Support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping to monitor and review progress in collaboration with the SENCO. • Lead or assist with targeted small group or one-to-one interventions, focusing on literacy, numeracy, social communication, or emotional regulation. • Assist with managing behaviour in line with school policy, encouraging positive engagement in lessons and during social times. • Record observations and contribute to student progress reports and review meetings. • Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals as required.
