Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location:Wandsworth, London Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm Salary:Competitive, Paid to Scale Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and dynamic team in Wandsworth, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within a classroom setting, working collaboratively with teachers to create a positive and effective learning environment. **Responsibilities:** - Assist in the delivery of personalised educational programs designed for individual students or small groups. - Support the emotional and social development of pupils, including those with behavioural, emotional, social, and special educational needs. - Employ a range of strategies to foster student engagement and encourage independence. - Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the assessment process. - Develop and maintain a trusting, empathetic relationship with students, acting as a mentor and guide. - Liaise with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure consistency in the approach to the student's education and well-being. - Prepare classroom materials and contribute to the maintenance of a safe and organized learning environment. - Participate in professional development and training to continuously improve the effectiveness of support offered to students.
