Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a well-regarded educational institution in Wandsworth, London. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment where you can make a real difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide targeted support to children with a range of SEND, including those with ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
• Assist in the planning and delivering of individual education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the SENCO and class teachers.
• Implement bespoke learning activities to enhance pupil engagement and facilitate inclusive learning experiences.
• Foster a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and external agencies, to contribute to the overall well-being of the pupils.
• Track and report on students' progress, while also addressing any barriers to learning.
Requirements:
• Prior experience working with SEND children within a school setting is desirable.
• A patient, empathetic approach with excellent communication skills.
• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a related field, is preferred.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
