Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEMH School
Location: Salisbury
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £95–£100 per day (PAYE)
Axcis Education is seeking a compassionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Salisbury. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity to support children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
In this rewarding role, you'll work closely with pupils who may also have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, or experienced trauma. You'll play an important part in helping them build confidence, develop positive relationships, regulate their emotions, and achieve both academically and personally.
Your Responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one and small group support across a range of key stages.
• Support pupils with SEMH needs, autism, ADHD, and trauma-related challenges.
• Help learners access the curriculum and stay engaged throughout the school day.
• Encourage positive behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies.
• Promote emotional wellbeing, independence, communication, and social development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver tailored support.
• Build strong, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe and valued.
• Contribute to a positive, nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.
