Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wargrave, near Twyford. This full-time position is available Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm and will involve providing one-to-one support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will have previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and will be confident in building positive relationships that help children feel safe, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to provide tailored support throughout the school day, helping to promote engagement, communication, independence and emotional regulation. This role requires someone who is calm, patient and resilient, with strong behaviour management skills and the ability to respond positively to challenging situations. You must also be willing to assist with personal care when required and provide consistent support in line with the child’s individual needs and care plans. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, proactive and committed to creating a positive learning environment where every child can thrive.
