Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire Salary: £92.63 per day Job Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Start Date: Immediate Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream school in Stratford-upon-Avon. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a mainstream educational setting. The successful candidate may work on a 1:1 basis or support small groups of pupils, helping them access learning, develop social skills, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities • Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings. • Assist children and young people in accessing learning activities across the curriculum. • Encourage communication, social interaction, emotional development, and independence. • Build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils, staff, and families. • Promote engagement, confidence, and participation in school life. • Support pupils with classroom routines, transitions, and behaviour expectations. • Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment. • Support with personal care where required. • Follow EHCP targets, behaviour plans, and individual support strategies where applicable. • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs, and wider school staff to meet pupils' individual needs. Requirements • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, additional needs, or challenging behaviours. • Experience within education, childcare, care, youth work, support work, or similar settings is desirable. • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach. • Strong communication and relationship-building skills. • Ability to adapt to the needs of different pupils and age groups. • Comfortable supporting personal care when required. • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities. • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one. • Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday.
