Speech, language and communication delay Teaching assistant Axcis are seeking a dynamic and experienced speech and language teaching assistant looking to make a real difference in a mainstream primary school setting. An exciting opportunity awaits at a vibrant primary school in Hillingdon, where you will work within the Specialist Resourced Provision (SRP) to support students on the autistic spectrum in accessing mainstream education and reaching their full potential. The SRP, also known as "The Hub," offers places for up to 16 children, and includes brand-new, specially-designed classrooms to create a calm learning environment. Facilities also include a purpose-built sensory room to meet all sensory needs, as well as small group rooms for focused learning and Speech and Language interventions. As a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 and group support to help students develop their communication skills and enhance their learning experience. Role Overview: -Provide individual and small group support for students with speech and language needs. -Assist in delivering tailored speech and language programs and interventions. -Collaborate with speech and language therapists, teachers, and parents to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed. -Support classroom activities, promoting effective communication and inclusion. -Help create a supportive, calm, and inclusive learning environment. Requirements: -Proven experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of speech and language development. -Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with children. -Experience working collaboratively with therapists, teachers, and educators. -Relevant qualifications in Speech and Language Support or a related field are preferred. -A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting a wide range of student needs.
