Job Title: Supply SEND Teaching Assistant
We are currently looking for a positive, energetic and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide supply cover at a specialist school in Reading. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to thrive both in and out of the classroom. The school caters for pupils of all ages and needs, including those with autism, complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and communication or behavioural needs. Every day is different, and the successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils to access learning, build confidence and develop essential life skills. While previous SEND experience is beneficial, the school places a strong emphasis on character, enthusiasm and personality. They are looking for individuals who can bring energy, positivity and a genuine desire to make a difference. Patience, resilience, a good sense of humour and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils are considered just as important as previous experience. The role will involve working closely with teaching staff to support pupils both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis. Personal care may be required as part of the role, and candidates must be comfortable providing this support with dignity, respect and sensitivity. This is a supply position offering flexible working opportunities, with school hours of 8:30am to 3:30pm. The daily rate for this role is £92.63 per day.
