Special Needs Primary School Teacher Location: Brent Start Date: January Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pay: To scale Are you a compassionate and experienced teacher with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A dedicated and welcoming special needs primary school in Brent is seeking a skilled teacher to join their team in January. About the Role: This role involves teaching and supporting the learning of students with developmental levels ranging from 8 months to 5/6 years. The successful candidate will work with children with severe learning difficulties (SLD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), global developmental delay, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD). The role requires a flexible and creative approach to meet each student’s unique needs, fostering their growth and development in a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities Include: Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the developmental levels of the students. Creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment. Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and monitoring student progress. Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide holistic support. Managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour management strategies. Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students in your care. What We’re Looking For: Prior experience working in an SEN setting, preferably with primary-aged students. A strong understanding of the needs of children with SLD, ASD, global delay, and MLD. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
