Job Title: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester Pay Rate: £83.40 - £90 per day (dependent on experience) Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? The Role: We are working with a fantastic local primary school in Tameside that is looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join their team. This is an incredible opportunity to make a real difference in a child's education and development by providing 1:1 support to students with high-level Autism. Key Responsibilities: - Work closely with a student on a 1:1 basis, offering consistent and tailored support. - Assist with day-to-day classroom activities, helping to maintain a structured and supportive learning environment. - Implement strategies outlined in the student's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). - Foster independence and encourage positive social interaction. - Use your creativity to adapt learning materials and ensure the child remains engaged. - Collaborate with teachers, SEND specialists, and parents to track progress and set achievable goals. About You We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: - Experience: Proven experience supporting children with Autism in an educational or care setting is essential. - Skills: Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills are a must. - Knowledge: Familiarity with Autism-friendly strategies and sensory needs. - Flexibility: Ability to adapt and respond to the varying needs of the student throughout the day. - Commitment: A passion for helping children reach their full potential. - Qualifications: While not essential, relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, a teaching assistant certificate, or Autism-specific training will be highly regarded.
