Job Title: Teaching Assistant with British Sign Language Qualification
Axcis education are looking for a highly motivated teaching assistant who has fluent skills in British Sign Language (BSL) who can take on a full-time ongoing role in an excellent mainstream primary school within the Birmingham area. The school has a deaf learning resource base attached and their chosen additional language across the school is BSL. they have a fantastic reputation of supporting individuals between the age of 4-11 years.
The school's passion for BSL is clear in their choice to extend BSL learning across the whole school and not just the deaf learning resource base. The perfect candidate will have a level 3 qualification in BSL (or above). They will work within the main school supporting children with learning difficulties to a continue to access the curriculum.
Requirements :
• Level 3 certificate in British Sign Language or higher
• Previous experience supporting within classrooms
• Previous experience in supporting varied SEND needs such as Autism as well as social and emotional needs and mental health difficulties (SEMH)
• Must be fluent skills in British sign language
• Eligibility to work in the UK
