Axcis are seeking creative, empathetic, supportive, engaging, reliable, and committed individuals—especially those with a care background—to join us as Teaching Assistant Cover, supporting learners with PMLD and other complex needs. Candidates will confidently assist with personal care duties, therapeutic activities, and classroom support as required. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualised support aligned to learners’ Individual Development Plans (IDPs) or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Assist with personal care needs including feeding, mobility, toileting, and sensory support. Engage with therapeutic programmes, collaborating with speech and language, occupational, and physiotherapy teams. Participate in creative and sensory-based learning activities such as art, music, IT, and life skills. Support students in internal and external work-related placements, aiding with communication, numeracy, and functional independence. What we look for in a care worker: Experience working in care or education settings, ideally with complex needs, PMLD, and personal care tasks. Compassionate and adaptable, with the ability to respond to changing needs and scenarios. Creative and engaging, able to facilitate sensory and experiential learning.
