Job Title: Post 16 SEN Teaching Assistant
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a dedicated Post-16 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive college environment, working with students aged 16+ who have a variety of additional needs. The successful candidate will support learners with ASD, ADHD, challenging behaviours, and MLD (including dyslexia and dyspraxia). Many of these students have had structured routines in place since primary school, and the role will focus on continuing these routines while offering encouragement and support throughout their college day. The post involves working across different classes and settings within the college, including Maths, English, and vocational training such as Construction. Subject knowledge in these areas is not required – the emphasis of the role is to provide consistent guidance, reassurance, and practical support, rather than academic teaching. Key Details: Location: Hounslow & Isleworth (two college sites) Days/Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:45am – 4:00/4:30pm (depending on class) Salary: £15–£17 per hour (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate, subject to interview success Requirements: Applicants must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one and register it with the Update Service. The ideal candidate will: Be passionate about supporting young people with SEN. Remain patient, calm, and resilient in challenging situations. Work effectively within established routines to ensure consistency for learners. Offer encouragement, guidance, and emotional support in and out of class.
