Job Title: Full time Teaching Assistant
Are you someone who cares deeply about helping young people feel included, understood and valued? Our secondary school in Swindon is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant (8:15 am–3:15 pm, Mon–Fri) to support students with autism. Starting ASAP, the role becomes permanent after an 18-week settling-in period, and pays £13.70 per hour.
What makes this school special:
It’s a vibrant, inclusive secondary school (ages 11–16) where pupils truly feel safe, welcomed and encouraged to strive towards their aspirations.
Its latest Ofsted inspection in March 2025 confirmed that the school remains “Good for overall effectiveness”. Inspectors praised the inclusive atmosphere, the respectful behaviour of pupils, and the strong support for students with SEND, especially within its specialist autistic provision.
Who we’re looking for:
We want someone with the right personality, values and motivation— someone who’s patient, caring, flexible and keen to make a real difference. You don’t need prior experience working in schools—maybe you’re a graduate, youth worker, sports coach, TA, support worker or local community champion who’s ready for fulfilling, meaningful work supporting vulnerable young people.
What the role involves:
Working closely with pupils with autism to help them access the curriculum and feel at ease in class.
Supporting a welcoming and positive learning environment where every young person knows they belong.
Teaming up with dedicated teachers and staff who share a real concern for each young person’s wellbeing.
If you're looking for a role that’s rewarding, supportive, and rooted in genuine care—this could be your next step.
