Job Title: Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (Manchester & Greater Manchester) Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in education? Axcis Education is expanding our team of dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils in mainstream primary schools across Manchester and Greater Manchester. If you have a background in education, youth work, mental health, or have relevant lived experience, we want to hear from you. Working in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015), you will: • Use evidence based resources such as Boxall profile or Zones of regulation • Help implement and review behaviour support plans • Use strategies to de-escalate and manage challenging behaviour • Support emotional regulation and develop pupils’ social skills • Work closely with class teachers, SENDCos and external professionals • Create a safe and supportive environment where pupils can thrive • Help track progress and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) You’ll work in inclusive and supportive mainstream primary schools, with occasional opportunities in alternative provisions or SEMH specialist settings.
