Are you calm, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people with behavioural needs? A leading multi-academy trust in Sutton is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join one of its Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ specialist settings, offering high-quality education to students in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), Alternative Provision, and SEND environments.
This role is ideal for someone experienced in managing challenging behaviour and creating a safe, supportive learning space for students with SEMH, autism, ADHD, and complex emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support for students with additional needs
• De-escalate challenging situations and implement behaviour strategies
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to foster engagement
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff, therapists, and inclusion teams
• Support the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans
Ideal Candidate:
• Previous experience in a PRU, alternative provision, or behaviour support role
• Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm, structured way
• Committed to promoting inclusion and emotional regulation strategies
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (Child & Adult Workforce) or willing to apply
• A patient, consistent team player with strong interpersonal skills
