Job Title: SEND Teacher - SEMH
£160/day | Secondary PRU | Tower Hamlets | September Start | Full-Time | Long-Term Axcis are working with a well-established Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Tower Hamlets who are seeking a passionate SEN Teacher with experience in SEMH to join their team this September. This school provides a small, nurturing environment for pupils aged 11–16 who require tailored support due to social, emotional and behavioural needs. Ofsted have praised the school’s strong pastoral focus and the excellent progress pupils make both academically and socially. Conveniently located with access to the DLR, Overground and multiple bus routes, the setting is easily reached across East London. In this role, you will: • Teach small groups of KS3/4 students with SEMH, often no more than 6–8 per class. • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across core subjects. • Manage behaviour using restorative and therapeutic approaches. • Work closely with pastoral leads and support staff to develop pupils’ confidence and resilience. • Track progress and contribute to EHCP reviews. What we’re looking for: • QTS or QTLS, ideally with experience in alternative provision, PRU or SEMH. • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. • A teacher who can balance academic expectations with emotional support. • A resilient and flexible professional with a genuine passion for inclusive education. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who thrives in smaller class settings and is motivated by seeing real progress in students who may have disengaged from mainstream. If you are a teacher who values relationship-building as much as results, this PRU will offer you a rewarding and impactful role.
