SEN Teaching Assistant | Nursery | Tower Hamlets | From £89/day | Full-time | Long-term | September Start We’re working with a welcoming nursery provision in the heart of Tower Hamlets who are looking for a compassionate, patient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support a small group of children with emerging developmental needs. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September. The school places great emphasis on early intervention, personalised care, and nurturing a sense of curiosity through play-based learning. Their team of experienced staff work closely with speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and families to ensure each child reaches their full potential. Easily accessible from the DLR and major bus routes, this nursery has excellent links across East London. In this role, you will be: • Supporting children aged 3–5 with early signs of autism, speech delay, and global developmental delay. • Assisting with sensory activities, routines, and transitions to reduce anxiety and promote engagement. • Collaborating closely with class teachers and specialists to implement tailored strategies and EHCP goals. • Supporting toileting and personal care routines with dignity and safeguarding at the forefront. • Helping foster communication through visual timetables, Makaton, and modelling key vocabulary. We’re looking for someone who: • Has experience supporting children in EYFS, particularly those with emerging SEN needs. • Brings warmth, patience, and creativity to help young learners thrive. • Understands the importance of consistency, structure, and communication. • Ideally has knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or other early communication tools.
