SEND Teacher – Primary SEN Unit – Havering £180–£240 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start Axcis are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Havering who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their SEN provision on a full-time, long-term basis from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting children with autism, communication needs, learning difficulties, sensory needs and social communication difficulties. The school has a strong commitment to inclusion and provides a structured, supportive environment where pupils are helped to build confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning. The successful teacher will be working with a small group of primary-aged pupils who require a more personalised approach to teaching. You will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, a proactive SENCO and a wider staff team who understand the importance of consistency, patience and strong relationships when supporting pupils with additional needs. The school is based in Havering and is accessible from Romford, Hornchurch, Rainham, Dagenham, Barking and surrounding areas, with local transport links and parking available where possible. About the Role As the SEND Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons within the school’s SEN provision. The role will involve adapting learning to meet individual needs and creating a calm, structured classroom where pupils feel safe, understood and able to make progress. You will: • Teach a small group of primary-aged pupils with SEND • Support children with autism, communication needs, sensory needs and learning difficulties • Plan practical, creative and differentiated lessons linked to individual targets • Use visual supports, structured routines and sensory-aware strategies • Lead and work closely with Teaching Assistants throughout the school day • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and independence • Track progress and contribute to EHCP outcomes, reviews and support plans • Liaise with the SENCO, parents and external professionals where required • Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment What We’re Looking For • Qualified Teacher Status, QTLS or strong SEND teaching experience • Experience teaching pupils with autism, complex needs or learning difficulties • Confidence planning highly differentiated lessons for pupils working at different levels • Strong classroom leadership and behaviour management skills • Ability to lead support staff effectively and create consistent routines • A calm, patient and reflective teaching style • Good understanding of EHCPs, personalised learning and inclusive practice • Full-time availability and commitment to a long-term role from September This is an excellent opportunity for a SEND Teacher looking for a long-term role in a supportive Havering primary school.
