Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Secondary School Learning Base
Are you looking for a rewarding Teaching Assistant job in South Bristol?
Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and patient Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in South Bristol from September 2025. This full-time role will be based in the school’s Learning Base, supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Dyslexia, and additional needs as they work towards their GCSEs.
About the Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (term-time only).
• Support students with MLD and Dyslexia on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Adapt resources and provide personalised learning support to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Help students develop essential academic and life skills for success beyond school.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to deliver and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Secondary Teaching Assistant in South Bristol who is:
• Experienced in supporting young people with MLD, Dyslexia, or other learning needs (desirable but not essential).
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning.
• A strong communicator with excellent teamwork skills.
• Passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people to reach their potential.
