We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Taunton. This role will see you working closely with students who may have additional needs, including autism, social and emotional difficulties, or behavioural challenges, providing them with the tools and encouragement they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. What the Role Involves: As a Teaching Assistant you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring students across Key Stages 3 and 4 feel included and confident in their learning journey. This is a rewarding position where no two days are the same. You will: • Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs • Follow tailored learning plans set out by the SENCO • Help students engage in lessons, manage behaviour, and develop independence • Provide regular feedback and track progress, liaising with staff, parents, and outside agencies where required • Encourage social, emotional, and academic growth, promoting resilience and self-belief • Support with ICT, classroom resources, educational visits, and supervision during breaks or school activities • Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and confidentiality at all times What We’re Looking For: We welcome applications from candidates with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
