Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant Location: Yeovil Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 4:00pm Pay: £105 – £110 per day (PAYE) We are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), working closely with students who have speech, language and communication needs, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) challenges, and a range of learning disabilities. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting students in KS2 to KS4. You will play a vital part in helping them access learning, regulate their behaviour and develop confidence in and out of the classroom. Your role will involve building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, encouraging positive behaviour, and helping to raise their self-esteem through consistent, supportive engagement. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, resilient and proactive, with experience working with children with additional needs, particularly in a PRU or SEND setting. Strong communication skills, patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.
