Secondary Teaching Assistant – ADHD Support Role
Are you passionate about helping teenagers reach their potential—even when focus and attention don’t come easily?
We’re seeking a committed and empathetic Teaching Assistant to support secondary students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in a Manchester school. These students benefit from structure, clear expectations, and a supportive adult who understands that restlessness, impulsivity, and distraction can be managed—and even harnessed—positively.
This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping young people stay engaged, organised, and confident in the classroom.
Your Role Will Involve:
Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions to help students stay focused and on task
Supporting smooth transitions between lessons using visual cues, prompts, and time reminders
Encouraging positive behaviours through consistent feedback and structured praise
Building trust with students who may feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or misunderstood
Supporting strategies like movement breaks, flexible seating, or calming routines
Working closely with teaching staff to create inclusive and responsive classroom environments
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with students with ADHD or similar attention-related needs
A calm, patient, and proactive personality who understands behaviour as communication
Confidence in using tools such as visual schedules, fidget resources, or sensory regulation strategies
Ability to notice early signs of distress or overload and offer supportive interventions
Knowledge of ADHD-informed practice or training (not essential but highly valued)
Why Join Us?
Full-time position starting September 2025 in a supportive Manchester secondary school
Daily pay of £89–£105, based on experience
Ongoing professional development and specialist training opportunities
A genuine opportunity to influence students’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing
Career pathways into education, youth work, SEN support, or mental health
£50 referral bonus for recommending a successful candidate
If you’re ready to be a consistent, encouraging presence in the lives of young people who need it most, we want to hear from you.
Apply today to take your next step in inclusive education.
