Daily Rate: £89 - £105 per day
We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring KS2 Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join our vibrant school community in Bolton, Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our Key Stage 2 pupils, helping to foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to Key Stage 2 pupils with ASD, both within the classroom setting and on a one-to-one basis.
- Work in partnership with the classroom teacher to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure that each child's unique learning needs are met.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources to support inclusive teaching practices.
- Facilitate social integration and help pupils with ASD to develop communication and interpersonal skills.
- Monitor and report on the progress of pupils, contributing to assessments and reviews.
- Encourage and assist pupils with ASD to engage with the curriculum, using innovative and engaging approaches to learning.
- Implement behaviour management strategies effectively and in accordance with school policies.
- Provide support and guidance to pupils during social and play activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Liaise with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the pupils' education and well-being.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and professional development sessions as required.
- Uphold the school’s values and ethos in all interactions with pupils and staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience in supporting children with ASD in an educational setting is essential.
- Strong understanding of Key Stage 2 curriculum and the specific needs of pupils with ASD.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive approach to challenging situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently.
- Commitment to continued professional development and learning new approaches to support ASD pupils.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
