Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Part-Time) Location: Richmond, London Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00?am – 1:00?pm (20?hrs/week) Salary: Paid to scale (National Minimum/Relevant Pay Scale) About the Role Our thriving primary/secondary school in Richmond seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support classroom delivery and enhance student learning. Working closely with the class teacher, you will help create a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity and academic progress. Key Responsibilities • Assist the teacher in planning and delivering lessons, providing one-to-one or small-group support as needed. • Supervise and engage students during classroom activities, transitions, and break times. • Prepare and organise learning materials, resources, and equipment. • Monitor student progress, record observations, and communicate insights to the teacher. • Support pupils with special educational needs, implementing agreed-upon strategies and accommodations. • Contribute to behaviour management, promoting positive attitudes and a safe learning atmosphere. • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and parent-teacher communications when required. Essential Qualifications & Experience • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics (grade 4/C or above). • Experience working with children in an educational setting (school, nursery, or youth club). • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and maintain confidentiality. • Basic IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, virtual learning platforms). Desirable • Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning. • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
