Academic Tutors – 1:1 Tutors Required (In-School & Home-Based Support) Location: Stockport and Tameside, Greater Manchester Start date: Immediate / Ongoing Hours: Flexible (part-time/full-time depending on availability) Pay rate: £35.00 - £45.00 per hour, PAYE (Experiance Dependant) About the Role: Academic Tutors, in partnership with Axcis Education, are seeking dedicated and passionate tutors to provide 1:1 support for students across a variety of settings. This may include working directly with pupils in schools or providing tuition in the home environment. The role will involve supporting students who may have special educational needs (SEN), learning gaps, or require additional academic intervention. Tutors will deliver personalised learning plans, helping young people to build confidence, engagement, and progress in their education. Responsibilities • Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions (in line with school/home learning plans) • Support students with core subjects (e.g., English, Maths, Science) or specific intervention areas • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of learners with SEN and/or additional barriers to learning • Provide feedback on progress to parents, schools, and Axcis where appropriate • Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment Requirements • Previous tutoring or teaching experience (school-based or private) • Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths, or other curriculum areas • Experience supporting students with SEN, learning difficulties, or behavioural needs is highly desirable • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Flexibility to work in both school and home-based settings If you’re passionate about education and supporting students on a 1:1 basis, we’d love to hear from you!
