Job Title: Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Windsor Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Pay: £89 per day About the Role We are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Windsor that supports children with challenging behaviours, communication difficulties and complex needs. This is a demanding but rewarding position, ideal for someone resilient, proactive and passionate about making a difference. Responsibilities include: • Supporting pupils with significant behavioural needs and helping them to engage positively in learning. • Using de-escalation strategies to manage incidents calmly and safely. • Assisting children with communication difficulties, using visual aids, PECS or Makaton where appropriate. • Encouraging independence, social development and emotional regulation through tailored activities. • Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals to follow individual learning and behaviour plans. • Creating a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment. • Remaining active and on your feet for much of the day. What we’re looking for: • Proven experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour. • Confidence in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques. • Patience, resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure. • A positive, proactive approach and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff. • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This is a full-time role offering £89 per day, ongoing support and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of pupils with complex needs.
