About the Role:
We are working with a specialist all-ages autism school in Hungerford to recruit a dedicated Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people with autism, supporting their learning and development in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting students with complex needs, including responding appropriately to challenging behaviour.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Supporting classroom learning and delivering tailored activities to meet individual needs.
• Helping implement behaviour plans and promoting positive social and emotional development.
• Supporting transitions, communication and engagement across the school day.
• Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists and other staff to deliver a high standard of care and education.
Person Specification:
• Experience working with children with autism or other SEND is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and safely.
• Comfortable providing personal care when necessary.
• Patient, compassionate and adaptable with strong communication skills.
• Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
