Job Title: Learning support advisor
Learning Support Advisor – College Setting
Location: Yorkshire
Pay: £90 per day
Hours: Full-time
DBS: Enhanced Child & Adult DBS (on the Update Service or willing to obtain through Axcis)
Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic learning support advisor to work full-time in a vibrant college environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs—particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience supporting children or young people in an education, care, or similar setting (essential)
• Experience working with learners with SEND, especially SEMH (essential)
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service—or willingness to apply through Axcis
• A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed both academically and emotionally
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting teaching staff with lesson delivery and classroom activities
• Providing tailored 1:1 or small group support for learners with SEND
• Assisting with emotional regulation and encouraging positive behaviour
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Collaborating with teachers, external professionals, and agency staff
• Supporting student wellbeing both inside and outside the classroom
Desirable Experience:
• Previous work with SEND learners (professional or personal experience welcomed)
• Familiarity with strategies for managing SEMH needs
• Experience working across multiple age groups is advantageous
