Job Title: Learning support - Special Needs
Job Title: Learning Support Assistant for Special Needs Location: Rochdale, Lancashire Salary: £95 per day (PAYE) Hours: Full-Time, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a large special needs school in Rochdale, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students with diverse learning challenges, particularly those on the autism spectrum, and possess the resilience, patience, and empathy to support them effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Offer tailored learning support to individuals or small groups of students with SEND, with a focus on those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). - Develop and implement inclusive educational practices to meet the varied needs of the students. - Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to create effective and supportive learning environments. - Assist with the development and adaptation of resources and materials to support students' learning experiences. - Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback and contributing to their Individual Education Plans (IEPs). - Support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development, employing strategies to promote engagement and positive behaviour. - Accompany and supervise students during non-classroom times, including breaks and lunch periods. - Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions as required. Requirements: - Experience working with young people with SEND, particularly those with autism. - A resilient and patient mindset with a strong commitment to fostering a caring and supportive learning environment. - Empathetic nature, with the ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents. - Excellent spoken English with strong communication skills. - Proactive attitude and the capability to work well under pressure. - Enhanced DBS check on the update service. - Right to work in the UK.
