**Job Title:** Lecturer - Skills for Life (Maths/English) **Location:** Middleton, Greater Manchester **Job Type:** Full-time **Hours:** 24 teaching hours per week, additional hours for planning/admin to align with a 37-hour contract **Salary:** £25-£35 per hour **Start Date:** Immediate, subject to Enhanced DBS check **Description:** We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Skills for Life Lecturer with a passion for supporting the educational journey of learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our ideal candidate will have a strong ability to deliver Functional Skills in English and/or Maths from Pre-Entry to Entry Level 3, which are essential components for our students' futures. **Key Responsibilities:** - Prepare and deliver engaging Functional Skills lessons in English and/or Maths to learners with SEND. - Develop differentiated lesson plans that cater to the varying needs and abilities of students. - Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning. - Assess and monitor student progress and provide timely feedback. - Implement strategies to support and encourage student retention and success. - Work closely with support staff and other lecturers to ensure continuity and progression in learners’ education. - Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments. - Participate in curriculum development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department. - Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and contribute to the institution's goals. - Comply with college policies, procedures, and safeguarding regulations. **Key Requirements:** - Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent). - Experience in teaching Functional Skills English and/or Maths. - Proven experience working with learners with SEND/Additional Needs. - Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. - Excellent classroom management skills. - Ability to create and adapt resources to meet the diverse needs of learners. - Proficient in using technology to enhance teaching and learning. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. **Benefits:** - Competitive salary and pension scheme. - Opportunities for professional development and career progression. - Supportive and friendly working environment.
