Job Title: PMLD Teacher
Position: PMLD Teacher Location: Shepperton, Surrey Hours: Full-time, Monday?–?Friday, 08:00?–?15:30 (inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break) Salary: Paid to scale (National Minimum/Recommended Pay Scale for specialist teachers) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Teacher to join our specialist team in Shepperton. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, person-centred education and support to children with profound and multiple learning disabilities, fostering their development, wellbeing, and participation in the wider school community. Key Responsibilities • Plan, prepare and deliver tailored curricula that meet individual education plans (IEPs). • Implement therapeutic and learning strategies (e.g., sensory, communication, mobility) in collaboration with multidisciplinary staff. • Monitor, assess and record progress, producing detailed reports for parents and external agencies. • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes independence and dignity. • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure seamless continuity of care. • Contribute to staff development by sharing best practices and participating in training sessions. Essential Qualifications & Experience • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in SEND or a relevant equivalent. • Minimum 2?years experience teaching or supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities. • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding, and health & safety regulations. • Excellent communication, organisational and collaborative skills.
