Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Hillingdon (Between Northolt and Southall)
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP in October
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (Potential to become permanent)
Pay: £89PAYE
About the Role
Axcis is proud to be working with a welcoming and well-resourced special primary school in Hillingdon to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant.
The school supports around 100 pupils, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) diagnoses. Many students also have additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
The ideal candidate must have experience with SEMH and able to manage challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
-Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD
-Help maintain a calm, consistent, and supportive learning environment
-Implement positive behaviour management techniques and use de-escalation strategies effectively
-Work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver targeted interventions
-Build trusting relationships with pupils to support both their academic and emotional development
The Ideal Candidate
-Experience working with children with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD
-Confident in managing challenging behaviour using calm and consistent approaches
-Team Teach (or similar) training is highly desirable
-Holds a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
-Friendly, proactive, and able to hit the ground running in a busy school environment
