Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Start Date: November 2025
Pay: £89 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking an experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Manchester.
The Role:
• Support students with SEMH needs to engage in learning and personal development.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Use Team Teach strategies to de-escalate challenging situations and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Promote resilience, positive behaviour, and well-being, acting as a consistent and supportive role model for pupils.
About You:
• Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a PRU or alternative provision.
• Team Teach trained (or willing to complete training).
• A calm, resilient approach and the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed both academically and personally.
