Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Edgware (Immediate Start)
Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with autism (ASD) on a 1:1 basis at a welcoming school in Edgware. This is a full-time role starting immediately, with interviews taking place as soon as possible.
About the Role
Location: Edgware
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:20am – 3:45pm
Start Date: ASAP
The successful candidate will be working closely with a primary school student who has ASD. The role will focus on:
Supporting the child’s learning and development on a 1:1 basis
Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively and calmly
Encouraging communication and interaction, with a focus on speech and language development
Working closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and external professionals to provide consistent and effective support
The ideal candidate will:
Have previous experience supporting children with autism in a primary school setting
Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
Have knowledge or experience of supporting speech and language development
Be patient, resilient, and committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential
