SEN Teaching Assistant – Team TEACCH & Behaviour – Primary – Barking & Dagenham
£89 - £100/day PAYE | Primary | Barking & Dagenham | Immediate/September Start | Full-Time | Long-Term
Axcis are recruiting for a Special Primary School in Barking & Dagenham who are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management and knowledge of Team TEACCH approaches. The school has a Good Ofsted rating, a warm ethos, and is proud of its inclusive environment where children with autism and complex needs are supported to thrive. Conveniently located near the District Line and with free staff parking, the school is accessible for candidates across East London.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting primary-aged pupils with autism and additional learning needs, using Team TEACCH strategies to structure learning.
• Assisting with behaviour regulation and promoting positive choices in and out of the classroom.
• Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to meet EHCP targets.
• Working with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent strategies.
What we’re looking for:
• Experience supporting pupils with autism and challenging behaviour.
• Familiarity with Team TEACCH or similar structured teaching methods.
• A calm, resilient personality with excellent teamwork skills.
• A proactive and positive outlook on inclusion.
