Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Reading
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: From £89 per day
Are you looking to make a real impact in the lives of children and young people with additional needs? We’re working with an all-ages SEND school in Reading that is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with a wide range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Every day is different and the right person will thrive on variety and challenge while building strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff.
What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting pupils in lessons, helping them to access learning in a way that works for them
• Assisting with personal care routines when needed
• Responding to challenging behaviour with patience and resilience
• Helping to create a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom environment
• Encouraging independence, communication and social skills development
• Working closely with teachers and specialists to deliver personalised support
What we’re looking for:
• Experience of working with children or young people with SEND is essential
• Confidence to manage challenging behaviour in a calm, professional way
• A caring, flexible and positive approach
• Willingness to assist with personal care as required
