Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Hungerford
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: From £89 per day
About the Role
We are looking for a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist all-age autism school in Hungerford. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact, supporting children and young people with autism in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
What You’ll Do
• Provide one-to-one and group support for students with complex needs.
• Respond appropriately and sensitively to challenging behaviour.
• Assist with personal care when required.
• Support classroom learning and deliver tailored activities to meet individual needs.
• Help implement behaviour and support plans, encouraging positive social and emotional development.
• Facilitate communication, engagement and smooth transitions throughout the school day.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver high-quality care and education.
About You
• Previous experience supporting children with autism or other SEND needs is highly desirable.
• Calm and confident when managing challenging behaviour.
• Comfortable assisting with personal care tasks when needed.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable, with excellent communication skills.
• Passionate about creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.
