Job Title: Speech and Language Therapy Assistant
Speech & Language Therapy Assistant – Primary – Havering
From £90/day | Primary | Havering | Immediate Start | Full-Time | Long-Term
Axcis are working with a welcoming primary school in Havering seeking a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2. The school places a strong emphasis on communication and inclusion, working closely with external therapists to deliver personalised programmes for children with speech and language needs. The school is a short walk from the nearest station and offers free on-site parking.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting children in developing speech clarity, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
• Delivering small-group and 1:1 interventions following therapist-led programmes.
• Recording progress data and assisting teachers to embed strategies in everyday learning.
• Promoting confidence and self-expression through play, storytelling, and interaction.
What we’re looking for:
• Experience working with children with communication needs (school, SALT or care background).
• Excellent spoken English, clarity, and enthusiasm for language development.
• Organised, proactive and a natural relationship-builder.
