Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Primary
Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated KS1/EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the M35 area. This is a full-time role supporting a student with Autism and SEMH needs who is currently working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
The role:
Providing tailored 1:1 support for a child in KS1 accessing the EYFS curriculum.
Supporting the child’s social, emotional and learning development throughout the school day.
Working within the EYFS base during afternoons to ensure consistent support.
Delivering targeted 1:1 phonics sessions to support literacy development.
Collaborating closely with class teachers and the SENCO to ensure individual needs are met.
The ideal candidate will have:
UK-based experience working with children with Autism and SEMH needs.
Previous experience supporting pupils within KS1 and/or EYFS.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and child-centred learning approaches.
Experience delivering phonics interventions.
A valid DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
