Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Behaviour Mentor – Secondary SEMH – Barking & Dagenham
From £95/day | Secondary | Barking & Dagenham | September Start | Full-Time | Long-Term
Axcis are working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Barking & Dagenham to recruit a Behaviour Mentor for their SEMH provision. The school has been praised by Ofsted for its strong pastoral care and restorative approach to behaviour. With good transport links via the District Line and free parking on-site, it is easily accessible for staff.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.
• De-escalating challenging situations and implementing positive behaviour strategies.
• Delivering small group interventions focusing on resilience and social skills.
• Building relationships to motivate and re-engage students in learning.
What we’re looking for:
• Experience supporting students with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• A calm, consistent approach and the ability to act as a role model.
• Previous youth work or mentoring experience would be an advantage.
