Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Learning Support Assistant – Post-16 SEN College – Barking & Dagenham From £95/day | Post-16 | Barking & Dagenham | September Start | Full-Time | Long-Term Axcis are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work in a post-16 SEN college in Barking & Dagenham. The college focuses on preparing young people aged 16–25 with additional needs for adulthood, with an emphasis on life skills, independence and employability. Staff describe it as a rewarding, supportive workplace with excellent CPD. The site is accessible by Overground and local bus routes, with parking available. In this role, you will be: • Supporting learners with autism, ADHD and MLD in both classroom and community settings. • Assisting with lessons around functional literacy, numeracy, and workplace skills. • Promoting independence through travel training, budgeting and daily living activities. • Encouraging self-esteem and social confidence through mentoring and consistent support. What we’re looking for: • Experience with SEN, ideally in post-16 or secondary education. • A proactive, adaptable approach and the ability to encourage independence. • Strong communication and patience when working with young adults. • A team player with a genuine interest in preparing students for adulthood.
